Musical theatre camp – From Broadway to today’s hits!<\/strong><\/p>\n

IIL Camps is pleased to continue its collaboration with Simply Theatre and is offering children aged 7 to 12 an exciting journey into the world of musical theatre this week.<\/p>\n

As part of this camp, children will have the opportunity to work exclusively in English<\/strong> with two experienced professionals from Simply Theatre, a choreographer and a drama teacher, over five full days.<\/p>\n

The young performers will learn to develop their stage presence, sing and dance their way through an exciting medley of toe-tapping musical scores, including songs from Broadway shows as well as popular modern day hits.They will also learn some stagecraft basics as they explore characters from their favourite much-loved musicals. The week will culminate in a fun, musical performance, which will be filmed and sent to parents and children as a keepsake!<\/p>\n

Simply Theatre is Switzerland\u2019s premier English-speaking performing arts training school and theatre company. Throughout the year they teach drama, singing, acting, dancing, in English, and put on high-quality shows.<\/em><\/p>\n

Prerequisite<\/strong>: although no experience in acting is necessary, it is mandatory that children are native english speakers or bilingual to follow this camp, which is delivered in english exclusively.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Practical information<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Families should drop off and pick up their children at IIL main entrance<\/strong> (Institut International de Lancy).<\/span><\/p>\n

8:30am-8:55am: welcome \/registration of children at IIL<\/span><\/p>\n

9:00am-10:30am: 1st part of the camp<\/span><\/p>\n

10:30am-11:00am: snack and break\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

11am-12.30pm: 2nd part of the camp<\/span><\/p>\n

12:30pm-1:55pm: lunch break (options)<\/span><\/p>\n

2:00pm-3:30pm: 3rd part of the camp<\/span><\/p>\n

3:30pm-4:00pm: snack and break\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4:00pm-5:00pm: final part of the the camp<\/span><\/p>\n

5:00pm: end of the camp. Parents are kindly asked to pick-up their children at the IIL at 5:00pm.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Late pick-up option (up to 6:00pm): +75chf\/week<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Please note that from now on, any delay in collecting your children will result in a charge of CHF 10 per child for every quarter of an hour or part thereof. Thank you for your understanding.<\/i><\/i><\/p>\n

Should you wish to allow your child to go home alone, please ensure that you send us your written consent by email to iil-camps@iil.ch before the start of the camps; otherwise, we will not be able to allow them to leave IIL.<\/b><\/p>\n

Morning and afternoon snacks are provided by IIL Camps and included in the camp fee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lunch is NOT included.<\/strong> When registering your children online for this camp, please choose between the 3 available options: <\/span><\/p>\n

  • Signing them up for the canteen (additional fee of CHF 105 per week)<\/li>\n
  • Providing a packed lunch every day for them to eat at IIL (supervision and activities included, no additional fee)<\/li>\n
  • Picking them up at 12:30pm and bringing them back at 1:45pm (no additional fee)<\/li>\n
