IIL Camps is delighted to offer young explorers aged 8 to 13 a unique botany workshop, in partnership with the prestigious Conservatoire et Jardin Botaniques de Genève (CJBG).
Dive into the heart of Geneva’s fascinating botanical garden, home to over 15,000 species of plants from the four corners of the globe. Equipped with iPads and macro lenses, children will set off on a captivating adventure to discover the living treasures of these collections. They’ll have the chance to immerse themselves in the miniature world of plants, exploring the beauty of flower petals, pistils and stamens from a new angle – like real budding scientists!
As they explore, our apprentice botanists will also learn the secrets of fungi and plants such as mosses, ferns and lichens, as well as their surprising modes of reproduction. To whet their curiosity even further, they’ll take a closer look at biodiversity through a microscope, with the chance of coming across a tardigrade! These fascinating microscopic creatures, hardy and enigmatic, hide in the smallest nooks and crannies of soil, moss and sediment.

Practical information
1:45pm-1:55pm: welcome/ registration at IIL
2:00pm: departure to Jardin Botanique with IIL school bus
2:30pm-4:30pm: botany workshop
4:30pm: return to IIL with school bus
5:00pm: end of camps
Afternoon snacks are provided to all children by IIL Camps.
Parents are kindly asked to pick up their children at the IIL entrance gate, at 5pm.
Late pick-up option possible, up to 6pm: +15chf/day
Should you wish to authorise your child to return home alone, please send us your authorisation by email to iil-camps@iil.ch
Children attending a whole day of camps will be able to have lunch on site (12:30pm-2pm).
Children attending afternoon camps only will not be able to have lunch on site.

By registering your children for the camps, you acknowledge and fully accept our general terms and conditions, and confirm that they have all the required insurance covers (health, accident and third party liability).

** Image rights: Your authorisation authorises the Institut International de Lancy to publish photographs/videos of your child on the IIL/IIL-Camps website and social networks. Without this authorisation, your child will not be able to appear in the camp photo albums sent to parents. IIL is committed to respecting the individual in the choice of photos it publishes.
*** specific medical conditions: a nurse will contact you to discuss your child’s treatment.
Detailed information on each camp will be sent by email. Please note that a minimum number of children is required for the camp to take place. If this number is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the camp, and to offer an alternative or a refund.
