Details
This summer, IIL Camps is pleased to once again welcome children aged 8-15 to a CHESS camp designed to help them discover or refine their skills in the king of games, known for its strong educational value.
Guided and advised by Clovis Vernay, International GrandMaster, children of all levels, from beginners to advanced players, will be able to challenge the chessboard during fun and entertaining sessions.
The first part of mornings will be dedicated to the theoretical aspect, with the key strategic themes being addressed. A workbook corresponding to the level of each child will be offered, so that they can note their progress and continue their learning after the camp.
The second part of mornings will be devoted to playing the game in a fun way. Children will have the pleasure of playing Condi-chess, which combines chess skills with physical endurance, as the rules of the game remain unchanged but the clock is placed 12 meters away from the board. Each player will have to run after having played his move to stop his count and not waste time!
Chess training is based on three pillars: calculation, memorisation and self-control. The practice is known to develop analytical and strategic skills as well as soft skills such as problem solving, time and stress management, and concentration. Chess is a great learning tool and the playfulness of the game is an undeniable plus for children.
So, ready to take up the challenge and checkmate?
