Musical theatre camp – From Broadway to today’s hits!

IIL Camps is pleased to continue its collaboration with Simply Theatre and is offering children aged 7 to 12 an exciting journey into the world of musical theatre this week.

As part of this camp, children will have the opportunity to work exclusively in English with two experienced professionals from Simply Theatre, a choreographer and a drama teacher, over five full days.

The young performers will learn to develop their stage presence, sing and dance their way through an exciting medley of toe-tapping musical scores, including songs from Broadway shows as well as popular modern day hits.They will also learn some stagecraft basics as they explore characters from their favourite much-loved musicals. The week will culminate in a fun, musical performance, which will be filmed and sent to parents and children as a keepsake!

Simply Theatre is Switzerland’s premier English-speaking performing arts training school and theatre company. Throughout the year they teach drama, singing, acting, dancing, in English, and put on high-quality shows.

Prerequisite: although no experience in acting is necessary, it is mandatory that children are native english speakers or bilingual to follow this camp, which is delivered in english exclusively.

Practical information

Families should drop off and pick up their children at IIL main entrance (Institut International de Lancy).

8:30am-8:55am: welcome /registration of children at IIL

9:00am-10:30am: 1st part of the camp

10:30am-11:00am: snack and break  

11am-12.30pm: 2nd part of the camp

12:30pm-1:55pm: lunch break (options)

2:00pm-3:30pm: 3rd part of the camp

3:30pm-4:00pm: snack and break   

4:00pm-5:00pm: final part of the the camp

5:00pm: end of the camp. Parents are kindly asked to pick-up their children at the IIL at 5:00pm.

Late pick-up option (up to 6:00pm): +75chf/week

Please note that from now on, any delay in collecting your children will result in a charge of CHF 10 per child for every quarter of an hour or part thereof. Thank you for your understanding.

Should you wish to allow your child to go home alone, please ensure that you send us your written consent by email to iil-camps@iil.ch before the start of the camps; otherwise, we will not be able to allow them to leave IIL.

Morning and afternoon snacks are provided by IIL Camps and included in the camp fee. 

Lunch is NOT included. When registering your children online for this camp, please choose between the 3 available options:

• Signing them up for the canteen (additional fee of CHF 105 per week)
• Providing a packed lunch every day for them to eat at IIL (supervision and activities included, no additional fee)
• Picking them up at 12:30pm and bringing them back at 1:45pm (no additional fee)
